The luxury sedan market has become a crowded space. Over the last few decades, every single automaker has forayed into the segment. A lot of luxury sedans have now become limousines and taxis. It is as if the segment has been stripped of its uber elite status and given a mediocre standing. So how does an automaker stand out in this regard? Maserati has come up with an answer, and we think it may be the right one. That answer of course is their delicious 2019 Maserati Quattroporte configurations list.
The Quattroporte line has been around for a long period of time. They have represented the Italian flair in a four-door saloon for decades. Even in the 21st century, remain one of only a few Italian carmakers with a sedan in their lineup. The Quattroporte is for the dreamers. It is a car that is designed to stimulate all five senses. Just from one glance, you can tell it is not a regular four-wheeler.
Yet, it competes in a space where the Germans and British have learned to refine their cars to the brink of perfection. So how does an Italian carmaker separate itself? By offering up a slew of configurations of course. The 2019 Maserati Quattroporte configurations would seem almost endless.
Maserati has introduced multiple variants in one car along with two separate trims for interiors and exteriors. To add to it, the variants and the trims can be combined, giving you access to a multitude of options. If you take a look at the 2019 Maserati Quattroporte configurations list you will be spoilt for choice. Today, we shall take a look at how these options differ and why having options is actually good for you.
The Maserati Quattroporte’s endless options
Maserati aims to offer its customers something out of the box. Each of the 2019 Maserati Quattroporte configurations can be further customized to make it an almost bespoke car. But what are the available options?
The S, SQ4, and GTS
The Quattroporte comes in three variants, the S, SQ4, and the GTS. The S is the base model among the 2019 Maserati Quattroporte configurations list. It is the standard spec car in the lineup and is also the most affordable. The SQ4 is the slightly more refined older brother, which features aluminum paddle shifters, advanced driver assistance, and all-wheel drive.
The Quattroporte GTS gets an upgraded engine and comes in either trim. The GT stands for GranTurismo Sport and is a car built on the base S version but with much better performance numbers. We will discuss the different engine configurations in a later section.
The Gran’ Duo
This is the moniker that was given by Maserati for the GranLusso and the GranSport trims. Unlike directly changing the configurations of the car, these two trims give it a more cosmetic enhancement.
The GranLusso is for those that want to make their cars a little more luxurious. The GranLusso gives you access to superior leather and a special executive rear seats package. Exuberant.
The GranSport is for those that wish to own a slightly sportier luxury sedan. With this package, you get a sharper design. There is a sportier grille, sculpted side, and central-front intakes, and red brake calipers.
Different Engines, Same Beast
Perhaps the most important distinction among the many 2019 Maserati Quattroporte configurations is the engine. There are two engine variants.
Made in collaboration with Ferrari, this 3.0 liter V6 coupled with a twin-turbocharger delivers a crunching 424 bhp. This engine is available on the S and the SQ4, and boy is it a siren. The engine combined with the sonorous powertrain treats your ears to a soundtrack that is reminiscent of Italian supercars. Both the cars can do zero to sixty in a smidge under 5 seconds and give you a top speed of 179mph.
If you are after just pure performance there is no version that does it better than the GTS. It has a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8. This behemoth of an engine delivers a stunning 523 bhp and 479 lb-ft of torque. The GTS comes with a lightweight exhaust system and bypass valves when combined with the engine gives you that distinct Italian sound signature. It is fast, blisteringly fast. It can do zero to sixty in 4.7 seconds and can touch a top speed of 193 mph.
All versions from the 2019 Maserati Quattroporte configurations list are draped in some of the finest leather you can get your hands on. There is also the option between high-gloss carbon fiber and a Rovere veneer trims to accent with the leather. This gives the Maserati further refinement and only adds to the bespoke appeal.
The Quattroporte GranLusso
For those that want that extra hint of luxury, the GranLusso offers Pieno Fiore leather as standard along with silk inserts designed by Ermenegildo Zegna. To add to the exclusivity, you get a rear executive seat package that is only available on the GranLusso. You get heated and ventilated individual seats at the back, making it a unique and comfortable ride for you and your passengers.
The Quattroporte GranSport
As the GranSport is intended for those that are seeking sportiness, the car comes with front and back sport seats. A leather steering wheel, aluminum paddle shifters and Inox sport pedals give the car a sporty feel. You can enhance it one step further by opting for the carbon fiber package. This package adds bits of carbon fiber to the steering, paddle shifters, door sills, and interior trims.
A Fresh Jacket
While the exterior design remains strikingly different from other sedans, for the 2019 Maserati Quattroporte configurations the differences are minor. The only exterior difference is in the GranLusso and the GranSport trim.
The GranLusso gives you a discreet front splitter, body-colored side skirts, glossy black brake calipers and the GranLusso badge on each of the front fenders. The car also gets 20-inch Mercurio wheels.
The GranSport gives the car a much more sculpted look with redefined front and side intakes, aerodynamic splitters and a sportier front grille.
You also get much bigger 21-inch wheels with deep red brake calipers.
Whichever of the 2019 Maserati Quattroporte configurations you get your hands on, you will be guaranteed one thing, a tailor-made car. The sheer range of options and the ability to add on to configurations is what sets the 2019 Maserati Quattroporte configurations list apart. As a different flavor in a market of bland luxury sedans, the Quattroporte is an ode to how the Italians do things, and it is a wonderful tribute.
